Laurent Rivaud, Vivienne Westwood’s jewellery designer who five years ago started showcasing his own designs under the mystifying name R Jewellery, has the approaches of the Victorian era echoing through his pieces. Rivaud often designs heavy, dark but, at the same time, strikingly beautiful pieces where symbolic and religious metaphors are frequently incorporated. His remarkably well executed jewellery designs courteously pay homage to antique jewellery and the techniques that created them.
